Fortnite players have a bunch of new toys to play with today, as Epic Games reveal the new content update v4.4.
The latest update brings in a slew of new content including the stink bomb and the new Limited Time Mode Final Fight.
The LTM mode restricts rounds into teams of 20 in a last-man-standing format, with the storm stopping its destructive shrinking after the third count.
Epic Games have also made some quality-of-life changes to Fortnite as well as some balance issues in the latest update,
The Fortnite servers are back online after Epic Games released the new content update v4.4 which includes several bug fixes, as well as a few performance and quality upgrades to the game.
The biggest piece of content for Fortnite players is the new stink bomb grenade.
On Epic Games’ official website, they have said the stink bomb is: “Nothing to sniff at, one whiff and they’ll be springing for fresh air.”
The stink bomb will explode on impact, dealing five damage every half second for a total of nine seconds.
They are of Epic rarity, coming in stacks of three (with a maximum stack of five), and can be found within floor loot, chests, and vending machines.
As well as the new stink bomb, Epic Games has also added the Final Fight LTM for battle royale.
Epic Games describes the new mode on its official website as: "Survive the countdown! The Storm Circles give players more room to hunt down opponents," reads the official description.
"The final circle triggers a countdown timer; when the time is up, the team with the most players remaining wins. In this LTM, teams can tie for the Victory Royale!"
Similar to standard Battle Royale, Final Fight stops its storm circle after the third cycle. When the circles finish closing, the final countdown timer begins, so explains v4.4's patch notes.
Once the timer expires, the team with the most players wins—and, in the event of a tie, the two teams (or more) tied in first place share the spoils.
The mode will only be available for a short period of time.
Elsewhere, the Save The World mode is getting a new ‘8-Bit Demo’ hero skin in the shape of the “new constructor Demolitionist”.
Epic Games has also made a big change to rocket launchers in the new update, nerfing the effectiveness of the weapon.
Rocket launchers now take longer to reload, depending on their rarity, as well as having six fewer rockets available, having the ammo reduced from 12.
